International Holocaust Remembrance Day
JANUARY 25, 2023
This Friday, January 27 is International Holocaust Remembrance Day, a day to commemorate the innocent people who lost their lives during the horrid days of the Holocaust. This tragic genocide of Jewish people and millions of others at the hands of Nazism should always be remembered.
January 27 is the anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp in Poland in 1945. While 80 years have passed, we are reminded daily of the rising presence of anti-semitism in the US and around the world. It is on us to stand up against such hate.
Today, this day is meant to remind the world of this dark period in history and to educate younger generations on the true realities of our past to make for a more unified future.
Representative Driscoll joined several other Representatives in cosponsoring and signing a Resolution, pictured below, recognizing this day to honor the millions of lives lost.
