Driscoll Signs Resolution Condemning White Nationalism

MILTON, SEP. 11- Community groups in Milton held a vigil on Thursday, August 17th in response to the recent “Free Speech Rally” in the Boston Common. Residents held signs and candles at the Milton Town Hall Gazebo to signal a unified stand against the hateful content of the rally.

The vigil was organized by Rachel Gore Freed, a member of the local progressive activist group, Milton Persists. The Milton Town Selectboard and Milton Interfaith Clergy Association also co-sponsored the event.

Representative Bill Driscoll, Jr., who signed on to the recent state resolution denouncing white nationalism, praised the efforts of the Milton community groups in organizing a peaceful demonstration. “In Milton we value inclusion, respect, and tolerance,” Driscoll noted, and explained that his decision to sign the resolution was reflective of the views of his constituents.

“I am proud of the way our community has responded to the hateful rhetoric and divisive actions that we have seen this year in Washington D.C., and in our own community. I will continue do my best to ensure that my constituents are represented in the State House during this troubling period in America,” Representative Driscoll stated.
