NOVEMBER 6, 2025 There are several upcoming opportunities to provide testimony to the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) on the Chapter 70 school funding formula. Earlier this year, the Senate included an amendment in the FY26 budget that directed DESE to study the local contribution formula within the Chapter 70 education funding statute. This provision survived the budget conference committee and was signed by the Governor. DESE is holding the following
