Driscoll Signs onto Prison Mitigation Funding Letter to DPH

FEBRUARY 17, 2026


Following a decrease in prison mitigation funding in the FY26 budget, nine communities were impacted as a hosting a correctional facility accrues an additional financial burden on their Emergency Medical Services (EMS).


Senator Bill Driscoll Jr. (D-Milton) recently signed onto a letter addressed to Commissioner Robbie Goldstein at the Department of Public Health (DPH), calling on the department’s diversion of $5 million to those communities impacted by the loss of prison mitigation funds.
