FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
December 19, 2025 -- As the Bridgewater Legislative Delegation we have heard from a growing number of constituents regarding the dire water issues facing many households. We have remained in contact directly with the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) as the situation has unfolded. We are pleased that DEP has now opened the door for Bridgewater to apply for up to $2 million to help address water infrastructure related to this emergency. It is our hope that the town applies for these funds and we stand ready to support this and any other applications to garner resources for Bridgewater.
The grant opportunity made available via DEP through the EC-SDC grant program is an acknowledgement of the need to support Bridgewater in addressing the immediate emergency and the longer term concerns from emerging containments including PFAS and manganese in drinking water.
We share the concerns of our constituents and town officials about their water supply and we are pleased that the Commonwealth can step in and assist with this type of support. This grant opportunity offered by DEP will help Bridgewater with real financial relief to mitigate this crisis.
As the legislators for Bridgewater on Beacon Hill we will continue to liaise with DEP, the Healey-Driscoll Administration and our partners in local government to explore any and all opportunities or solutions to improving water quality and safety.
