Bipartisan Effort in the Senate Secured Bridgewater-Raynham School Funding

BRIDGEWATER-RAYNHAM – June 18, 2025 – Senators Bill Driscoll (D-Milton) and Kelly Dooner (R-Taunton) teamed up to secure $138,000 for the Bridgewater-Raynham Regional School District. The allocation, approved by the House and Senate this week, is for capital improvement projects at Bridgewater-Raynham schools.

This bipartisan effort took place during the recent 2025 Fair Share Supplemental Budget debate. The funding supports critical investments identified by Bridgewater-Raynham school district, which has been experiencing budgetary constraints resulting in several deferred maintenance issues.

The $138,000 secured by the two first-term Senators enables the district to make necessary updates and improvements to maintain safe and sustainable school facilities.

“I am proud to collaborate with Senator Dooner to send substantial funds to our shared B-R school district,” said Driscoll. “This joint and bipartisan effort to deliver for B-R students, faculty, and staff is meaningful and I know we will continually look for future opportunities to team-up in support of Bridgewater and Raynham.”

“I was glad to work across the aisle with Senator Driscoll to secure this vital funding for the Bridgewater-Raynham School District,” said Senator Dooner. “Our schools have faced real challenges due to budget constraints, and this funding will help address some of the critical maintenance needs. We will continue working collectively to ensure our students, teachers, and families have the resources they deserve.”

The bill now heads to the Governor for her signature.
