The Massachusetts Department of Public Health (DPH) recently held a forum related to Strengthening Trust in Childhood Vaccines. At this moment, Federal authorities are undermining guidance and authorizations related to important vaccinations and proven practices.
Senator Driscoll joined Governor Healey, Secretary Mahaniah, and Commissioner Goldstein in welcoming providers and experts across the Commonwealth’s public health sector to discuss collective commitments to science-backed policy and practices regarding childhood vaccines.
Amid the alarming misinformation and changing directives at the federal level, this effort reaffirms the safety of childhood vaccines and why following research based and well-founded immunization schedules is essential for our shared public health.
The Commonwealth has empowered a Massachusetts Vaccine Advisory Council, tasked with facilitating the recommendations of childhood vaccines by DPH. This state-level council enables Massachusetts to continue to follow sound, science-backed schedules and mitigate any efforts to erode trust from the federal level.
