“Today’s Supreme Court ruling is the continuation of the devastating actions by this federal administration. By removing this TPS status from thousands of Haitian and Syrian immigrants across the nation, we are dismantling the foundation for a safe and dignified existence.
This action destabilizes the lives of and puts in harm's way individuals and families who have spent years in our Commonwealth building relationships, working jobs, and contributing to our economy; all done so through a legal process and framework. These Haitian and Syrian individuals are our neighbors, coworkers, friends: our loved ones.
My heart goes out to all thoses affected. I think about the large Haitian population in my district, and the vibrant culture they’ve brought to the region.
This action – along with the many others enacted by this federal government– is the antithesis of what our nation was founded on. The responsibility to choose a better path forward belongs to us all.”
